Blog 22: Mentorship

1. Literal

  • Mentorship log is updated and can be found on the right hand side of my blog.

2. Interpretive

One of the most important things I had gained from this experience is how important customers can be towards a business and always trying to make sure you have merchandise in stock for them at all times. After doing this for months, it gave me a new perspective on how hard a business can work to just try they have everything they need to help keep their business running and how hard they work to always please their customers. Instead of just saying that they are only nice because they want my money, it shows that the employees and business owners actually do care for their customers and shows how loyal a customer can be to them as well.

3. Applied

I went to Mentorship a lot. If I could I would go every week for a few hours, which gave me a lot of experience inside of the store. I had learned a lot of things from my mentor and the store owner, they were both very supportive towards my project. What helped me answer my EQ was the fact that I had so much experience at the shop it helped me learn things quicker. Talking to all of the customers was a great help towards my best answer, reading whatever new book came out (or at least trying to) showed me how hard it was to keep up with every single book, and having customers help out showed me that they also like the experience of how it is to work like at the store. Throughout the months I was there I had learned so much that could help me when it came to my EQ.
