September Extra Blog

I have found a mentorship at JPM Comics in Glendora and have done two days there already. I go every Sunday for three hours.  My mentor, Kevin, is a really nice guy and is showing me a lot about this certain topic. He is going to try to talk to his boss to see if I can do more than one day and to do more than three hours.

I am planning to interview Kevin for my second interview, but I still need to schedule it with Kevin to see what day and time would be best for him to do it.

I am also going to look into finding another comic shop I can mentor at so I can get a perspective from two different points of views and see if that'll get me more information.  I have yet to find out what I am going to do for independent component one, but I plan to find out something soon.

Blog #5

1. Describe your experience in how you found your mentorship?  If you haven't found one yet, describe your experience so far in the search of a mentor.

I have not officially found a mentor yet, but I do have a few leads that say they will consider mentoring me.  I did not anticipate on how challenging it would be to find a mentor, but I do plan on getting a mentor very soon.

2. What has been your most important article you have read so far and why?

The most important article(s) that I have read so far are articles about how to actually mange a business.  I had no idea how hard owning one actually is until reading various articles for tips and different perspectives from different people. It really did help me a lot.
